Storz & Bickel just released the Mighty + Dry Herb Vaporizer and we all want to know if the original Mighty Vape has had its day. I spent three weeks with one in each fist getting to the bottom of this, so let's go!
To get to the point – what should I take?
If you're on a budget but want the best, or are brand new to vaping without any gear, get the original Mighty. It's cheaper, the vapor is just as good, and it comes with any accessories you need.
If price doesn't matter or if you're an avid vaporist and want the latest, grab the Mighty +. You'll appreciate the faster heat-up time, USB-C charging, and cleaner bowl.
If you're somewhere in the middle or still doing research, read on. We have your answers!
Box contents are important
The Mighty comes with more stuff than the Mighty +, and for some, the extras will matter. Both vapes have a dosing capsule, some extra O-rings, and a brush, but the Mighty vaporizer also includes a grinder, charging tool, and liquid mesh pad for concentrates. For $ 50 less, the Mighty kit is a complete package with everything you need to vape, including the occasional concentrate session. The Mighty + assumes you already have a grinder and are not using concentrates.
Better grip fins with orange highlights
Is a word more catchy? Regardless, the Mighty + 's curvier look is easier to hold. The fins on the original were straight and flat, but the new ones curve inward, forming two vertical channels that are easy to pinch.
From a purely aesthetic point of view, the buttons and the logo are now orange. The slide lock graphic on top of the cooling unit is now the Storz & Bickel logo instead of an italic “Mighty”. That should help us tell them apart.

Both wobble! Smh
For the rest of this comparison, we'll start at the bottom and work our way up because that's the first place I looked when I snapped into my Mighty + box. Show me those little feet and how they stand up on their own when I load the bowl!
Do you see the little feet below?
the Original Mighty Dry Herb Vape had two small bumps on the bottom so it could stand up when the stirring tool was turned over. Pull out the stirring tool, turn it over, and reinsert it. But the Mighty would still fall forward at the slightest push.
Unfortunately, while the Mighty + design is better, it is not perfect. When the stirring tool is upside down, the larger feet will tend to lean back so that it no longer falls forward. But it also loses a bit of stability towards the rear.

I have no idea why S&B didn't go for a flat bottom like the Crafty + vaporizer. The solution we want is there.
Mighty + charges better
The biggest upgrade to the Mighty + is USB-C charging. It actually charges slower than the Mighty's barrel port wall charger (by up to an hour or two), but it's universal! I can go almost anywhere and find a USB port for charging and probably even use an extra cable. But if I misplace the charger for my Mighty, sad Jerry.

The battery life was pretty similar in my tests, and the USB-C charge time didn't impress until I used the Supercharger for another $ 25. I'm disappointed that this wasn't included with the Mighty + because I consider it a must have for my style. I work hard on my Mighty + and I usually don't finish when it runs out of juice. It's a game changer to fully charge the Mighty within an hour. If you are a heavy user, get the Supercharger.
With the Supercharger I can charge a dead Mighty + up to 80% in 40 minutes or have it ready for a session in a few minutes. It also unlocks pass-through charging, so you can vape with a dead battery when you plug it into the wall. However, don't make this a habit. It's extremely tough on the batteries and will send your $ 400 vape to an earlier grave. I only do it occasionally when there is a need.
Same display, but a little brighter
The OLED display is the same on both vapes, but the Mighty + display is a bit brighter compared to a new Mighty vaporizer. I could see it from all angles in direct sunlight, but time will tell if it will fade like some of the original Mighty displays. If you're from an older Mighty, the Mighty + display looks very bright!
Cleaner ceramic bowl
The Mighty + has a ceramic-coated bowl that doesn't seem to affect steam, but is easier to clean and hides stains better than the Mighty's aluminum bowl. Storz & Bickel describes it as more durable and robust. I don't know about it, but I do know that the ceramic bowl should never look like my original Mighty bowl, which is an amber, brownish color forever. The black ceramic gives the Mighty + bowl the same look as the Volcano Hybrid if you are familiar with it.

UL certified electronics
That's bigger than you think. The Mighty + is the first dry herb vaporizer to feature a UL certification. Think about it. No other vaporizer in the world has the internal parts tested and approved by a third party.
The Mighty wasn't lazy either. It was almost identical to that Mighty Medic, the world's first medically certified portable dry herb vaporizer. But UL certification will help some Mighty + owners sleep better at night.
It's possible that anyone who owns both the Mighty and Mighty + vaporizers will notice a slight difference in vapor. I thought I had discovered subtleties between the two, but when I talked about it with others, we all noticed different things. The litmus test came when I took them both off for a weekend. I've packed them Powerful + and ripped through five bowls before realizing it was the original Mighty all along. That told me everything I needed to know about steam – they're the same.
The Mighty + 's faster heat up time was way more noticeable than anything in the vapor, especially when the battery ran out. The Mighty + heat-up times with an almost empty battery were similar to the Mighty with a full charge.
As mentioned earlier, the charging times weren't much different until I got the Supercharger, and at that point the Mighty + became my top choice. The best charge time I've seen on a portable vape so far.
Otherwise, the rituals for these vapes are the same. Grind, Load, Hit Style and Controls haven't changed.
Should Mighty Owners Upgrade?
If your Mighty is still humming along and putting a smile on your face, no. The original Mighty is a beast, and that hasn't changed. But if your Mighty is older and showing some signs of wear, you might be the perfect person to upgrade. Anyone who's beaten up a Mighty will love the Mighty +’s faster heat-up time, USB-C charging port, and cleaning bowl. If you are a strong vaporizer, don't forget the supercharger. You will thank me later.
