With the growing amount of pod systems on the market, has brought with it a growing number of requests to write and publish articles about the on my blog, I do find myself declining quite a few, as they are all much of a muchness. But my interest was peaked when the team at FLERBAR got in touch the other month, especially as they claim of bring a healthier Vaping experience, so I was keen to find out more and try out this healthier Vaping experience for my self.

As with most pods on the market today the BAYMAX comes boxed in it very own little stay fresh colourful foil bag. Tearing open the bag, and the pebble smooth device slides into your hand. This device has real palm appeal, and I find myself turning it endlessly through my forefinger and thumb, it’s perfectly smooth sides feel like it was made in the sea, rather than the factory, with a surprisingly natural form factor. Even the silicone mouthpiece has a soothing softness to it.

I must admit, after years of vaping devices with cold hard drip tips, it was a pleasant change to have some rubber on my lips! That really didn’t sound right, but you get what I mean.

The BAYMAX 3500 doesn’t have any noticeable air holes located in the grip area. which means you don’t end up accidentally blocking the whilst Vaping, which can be very annoying, not quite sure why other manufacturers seem to put air inlets directly where you hold it. Apparently the FLERBAR BAYMAX uses a Top “U” airflow system, which seems to successfully keep the Mesh Coil Cool, this set up is designed to provide an authentic Vaping experience with bigger clouds, which definitely seems to be the case. With just the right amount a airflow resistance.

The airflow intake, is fairly tiny, in keeping with a medium MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape, which I would describe as airy MTL.

It’s nice to see that they have includes a Type C charging port, top top up the battery power should it be required. As there is nothing more frustrating that when you disposable pod runs out of power when you know it still has juice left, The neatly labelled Input: DC5v Type C port is located on the right hand side of the device. And does charge really quickly.

The sizeable 650mAh should be enough to give you a good amount of Vaping between charges, but you will probably need to charge it a few times to get through the 12 ml of Tastey ejuice.

TPD Approved?

The fact that the BAYMAX 3500 has ZERO Nicotine means that despite it having a full 12ml of Eliquid, it is totally legal in the UK and EU and is indeed TPU Compliant. You may well be asking, Why would I want to vape a 0% Nicotine Disposable! Flerbar are debuting the BAYMAX 3500 with its innovative HRTP (Harm Reduction Technology Platform) which from what I can gather, references the fact that it delivers up to 80% of the same effect, compared to a pod system with Nicotine. Not sure how, but hopefully during the testing and reviewing process, we will be testing out this theory.

Choice of flavours.

I was sent 7 fruity flavours to try out.

As you can tell from the list above, they are mainly all sweet and fruity.

On Vaping my way through the flavours, they are all more “Candy” than “Fruit” if that makes sense, I would say they are naturally sweet, more sweet sweet. But saying that, all the flavours where bang on, I especially liked the Pink Watermelon. As it reminded me of the super Tastey Watermelon chew sweets. On the flavour front the inhale was banging, flavour on flavour, with some extra flavour for good measure, it’s one of those vapes that as you inhale, you wonder if everyone else in the room can taste it. It seems to permeate your tongue, this intensity carry’s on back, and delivers a solid throat hit, probably the solidest zero Nic throat hit that have experienced.

Overall I was super impressed with the flavour profiles, some of the most intense flavours that I have had from a disposable pod system. I think the flavour may have been ramped up to make up from the Nic.

Battery Life, Recharging and Puff Count.

As far as batter life, out of the box, it gave me about 12 hours, worth of charge, so like a whole days Vaping. Which is quite rare with a pod of this size.

You will know when the battery is drained, the LED will flash 10 times. But as with all such devices, there is no way of knowing if the device is about to run out, I.e you nip out the house only to find you only have a couple a puffs left. I would still prefer some type of charge remaining, such as the LED changing colour, for example, just to give you the heads up. But I suppose it is only a throw away item.

And from flat the Type C fast charger took about an hour to recharge it back to full, the LED will turn off when it is fully charged.

As with all devices, I don’t recommend charging it overnight, or leave it unattended.

Harm Reduction Technology Platform.

So the elephant in the room, and the thing that peaked my interest at the start was the HRTP. And the fact they have Zero Nic, and claim not to need it, well claim to deliver the same effect (up to 80%) as a nicotine infused pod system.

Do they taste good ? – yes

Do they give a decent throat hit? – yes

Do you get the same head rush and Nic hit? No

It did sort of ease the craving! I think. Hard to be scientific. But I know first thing in the morning, or after eating, it doesn’t seem to quite hit the spot. Just trying to be truthful.

It’s like comparing beer and none alcoholic beer, they both taste good, they both quench your thirst, but only one of them will get you pissed.

Conclusion.

All in all I have been quite impressed with the BAYMAX pop system, great form factor, battery life, and amazing taste, And if I was looking at making the move to Zero Nic, then these would be a great option, as the defiantly give a better hit than other zero Nic pods, best thing to do, is to try one out for your self, and see how you get on.
